School Days

We visited with our good friends to see their new baby goats. They were 3 days old. We all were smitten with how cute they are. Two of Elizabeth's closest friends are in the photo with her below. We're so thankful to have such great friends.

School Days

This spring we've had some fun activities with our schooling and friends. We had a "blast" learning about volcanoes and chemical reactions. (I'm especially thankful for a friend who put it all together. I am not so great in the Science Experiment department...ahem.)

Beach Birthday!

We celebrated Susannah's 3rd birthday with an overnite at our favorite campground in Salisbury, MA. We all love the beach and David has fond memories of his days here when he was growing up. It's a real treat for him to share this place with the children. We always have a great time making our own fond memories.

Feet to Prayers continued...

We joined the national Tea Party last week to protest the crazy spending by our new officials. As we walked and prayed, we were encouraged to see so many coming together with a common goal. Responsibility and Accountability.

Putting Feet to Our Prayers

This year has given our family many opportunities to get more involved with many of the changing laws being written. In March we joined around 1000 families in protest to an ill-written home-education law that was being pushed through. It was an anxious time for me, but thankfully, the law was set aside, for now.

Birthdays Abound!!

Since I'm not so very consistent with blogging, I know I've missed several birthdays over the months. (Just what do I DO with all my time anyways??!!)

Here are some highlights of the birthdays that have been celebrated in our home since Christmas time.
Benjamin turned 7 this year. He's growing into such a gentle young man. I am so amazed at his wit, intelligence and determination.

Next birthday was mine. It's pretty amazing to see the years go by. Turning 35 was pretty fun, I'll admit. My family treated me with a weekend of dates, scrapbooking, cake and David's crepes for breakfast. I am looking forward to another year filled with God's good favor.

Just this past weekend we celebrated our sweet Baby Ruth's 5th birthday! What a joy!!

I'm Growing Crunchier and Crunchier.

Some of my recent endeavors to overhaul our diet and budget have included some changes I NEVER believed I'd be making. However, now that I've done it, I am SO glad! What a feeling of accomplishment to know I CAN figure out how to do such simple things to care for my family. :)

The first cool thing I thought I'd share is my success in making my own sugar-free ketchup! For some reason making something as basic as ketchup seems like a Super-Power of some kind. LOL!
Well now, since I have mastered the ultimate in condiments, I thought I'd move on to the next great challenge. Homemade Laundry Soap.

A few other things I've been working on in the last few months are bagels, crackers, and improving my bread making skills. I think I've finally gotten that down, hooray!

Yes, I have finally accepted my offical title, Crunchy Momma. ;)
