It's The Final Countdown!!

And here we are, the Third Trimester of this pregnancy!  Yes, it has gone fast, and yes, it's hard to believe we have just over 11 weeks to be impatiently pacing the floors waiting for this little (or not so little) one to arrive.

And we will be pacing because a ninth Menard baby isn't likely to break the mold and actually come on time or early without an induction.

This pregnancy has been a great one. I still had some of my normal challenges with all day sickness in the first trimester. Thankfully, it didn't last the full 18-20 weeks it normally does.  However, we we are delighted that my health has been better this time around than ever. So far, there is no sign of Gestational Diabetes or even borderline blood sugar struggles like I've had in my last seven pregnancies.  You can read more about how I'm doing on this post at my health blog.

 

But, enough about me, let's talk about this baby!! 

(I'm all backwards on blogging this summer, so I haven't even posted photos and the story of our Big Gender Reveal we had last June.  It will come.  What a FAB time we had with family and friends that night!!)

Right now I just wanted to share this idea we came up with to countdown the final days until our little one's arrival.  Since my due date is October 31st, we thought we'd have a little fun.  We don't celebrate Halloween as a family, but we couldn't resist using this date as a clever way to see if our little baby will decide to Trick or Treat us this year.  Will we be TRICKED by baby arriving before (gasp!) or after my due date (mostly likely!) or will we be TREATED by welcoming baby right on the target date? (Hahaha!!!)  Honestly, for me it would be more of a trick if Baby Dear arrived exactly on date. How often does THAT happen??!

 

So, we are counting down the days now.  78 to go, as of today.  We loaded up some jars with a variety of treats and will be taking one out each day until we get to October 31st.  It will be so fun to see how Baby decides to Trick or Treat us while enjoying some fun goodies while we wait.

A bonus is that these treat jars are providing some great incentive to the children.  They all want to be the one that gets the treat that day. ;)  Fun, family bonding, and character training all in one!  Everything right about that. :D
