A little piece of my love and world...Part 2

These are simply some precious moments....

At last the tournaments ended with a Melee(a fight between all of the boys at once), with the victorious knight being Sir Jonathan.

Much to these knights delight, our next occupation was the first course of our feast.

Menu~ Barley Pottage(soup), lettuce boats, Pease Pie, and Apple Cider.

The long table: courtesy of Sir Joshua.

After the first course the little girls, Joshua, and I entertained the guests with a play called
The Four Dancing Princesses....

~First, it is bedtime...(Kindy didn't want to sleep)

...but for some reason the princesses always had ruined shoes in the morning...

...they have been dancing all the time! And now the king can dance with them. But wait, the servant(Susannah) who solved the mystery must be rewarded....with a princess as his bride!~

The second course menu: Chicken roast, Seasoned mushrooms and green beans, Apple baked beans, and Seasoned fish flays.

The Bilodeau's birthday gift to me was this handsome, delicate goblet, made by Sir Jonathan.

There were a few foolish yellow jackets who seemed to have gotten drunk on the cider...and, well...we didn't have to worry about them after this.

Well, this usually means the meal was a success.

While we waited for the last course, we listened to some pleasant, medieval flute music and dancing.

How precious!

Kindy had to join in this jollity.

But, then something better came...

...Dessert! She waited so patiently for it.

We had, for the third course, ~Ruth's tarts, Zucchini bread with date frosting, Baked apples, Raspberry-date tart, and dried fruit.

And the whole regal party....

(Silly picture. Never my favorite. But....maybe it is alright:))

"No weapon that is fashioned against thee shall stand, and every tongue that riseth up in judgement thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, for their righteousness is of Me, saith the LORD."

A Medieval Feast
I am quite late in putting this together, but here is the story of a birthday feast.

After some delay the festivities of the day began with a display of swordsmanship. Here the knights choose their battle weapons.
The first duel was between Sir Joshua and Sir Andrew.
(After I announced the boys who would fight each other Andrew told me that Josh had just beaten him in duel before. Poor Andrew!)
Next, between Sir Jonathan and Sir Benjamin.
The winners of each of these duels then fought, and Sir Joshua was pronounced the victor of the man-to-man combats.
Following this, we had the archery tournament.
The victor of archery display was Sir Jonathan.

As the tournaments progressed, the lady of the manor(dear Mama) served the onlookers...

(The dive for Mama's goodies!)
This is a view of how we were situated in our yard.
Mrs. Bilodeau took this beautiful picture of the other photographer!
As the knights enjoyed their dueling, we maidens were given elegant hairstyles by Mrs. Bilodeau.
(This picture is one of my favorites; Rachel's smile is so beautiful!)
These are her masterpieces on Ruth and me...
