Visit With Nana - Road Trip

We loaded up the RV for a road trip to the White Mountains.  It was beautiful, as the leaves were just starting to change colors that far north.

First stop was the Big Basin.

Next stop, The Willey Family Homestead in Crawford Notch.

Visit With Nana

Nana (Tracy's mom) came for a long awaited visit at the end of September. It had been about 5 years since she had been back this way, so everyone was very excited to have her here for a full week.  We enjoyed some great day trips to the mountains, the beach, the lakes, and a museum.  It was such a lovely visit. We can't wait to do it again, SOON!

We'll start with our "official" greeting to Nana when we picked her up from the airport.  Yep, you read it right.  Baby number "8" is on the way!

Nana's arms were full of lovin' from the start!

The Big One

Daddy-O

...hit the Big 40...

...and we love him in a BIG way!!!

May the Lord show himself strong in this new season of your life, David. The Wisdom Years have just begun!!!

Back To School!

Wonder why it's been so quiet on the blog this month?  School started in full swing at the beginning of September and all those spare moments have disappeared. ;-)  This year we have 4 "official" students at the table along with a sweet Kindy, an busy little PreK'er, and an adorable toddler that none of us can resist.  It all makes for one crazy school day as we learn, work, and play together.

Bettsy ~ age 13

Another Praise Report!!!

We got the news a couple of weeks ago. (sorry about the delay ::blush::)  David PASSED his second exam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  We are thrilled and so very grateful to the Lord for hearing all the faithful prayers on our behalf.  Studying is already underway for exam #3, which David is schedule to sit for at the end of November.  Pray this season of studying will be productive and honoring to the Lord.

Thank you so much, dear friends. Your prayers and support mean more to us than we can express.

We're Good.

Irene came in and went out kindly in our neck of the woods. We watched the rain and winds show their power, but were kept safe from any real damage.  We did lose power late morning on Sunday.  We were ready with the RV generator, so our fridge and freezer foods were safe. We even cheated and set up the computers and tv later in the day so the children could use up some energy on the Wii and have some family movie time.  Other than that, David and the children played a board game, some took naps, and we enjoyed some candlelight that evening.  We did head out for a ride on Sunday evening to asses the damages in the nearby towns. Several trees were down on the power lines nearby. Otherwise we were thankful to see that the rivers were still staying low and the damage wasn't as terrible as it has been in other places.

Overall, I'd say our first encounter with a hurricane rated as exciting yet safe.  Just the way I'd always like a hurricane to be. ;-)

"And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock."
