'Tis the Season

We are enjoying decorating our new home for the Christmas season this year. It's a little crazy unpacking the boxes of treasures that have been so obviously loved and worn.  Keeping the mess and chaos under control is a bit of a losing battle. We're liking the end results, though. Susannah has been asking every night if she can sleep with the Christmas tree. ;)  Maybe some night soon we'll cozy up with the lights and the fire and have a Christmas Camp Out. :)

"And again he says, "Here am I, and the children God has given me." Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death--that is, the devil-- and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death."
Hebrews 2:13-14

"This reason Jesus became man was to die. As God, he could not die for sinners. But as man he could. His aim was to die. Therefore he had to be born human. He was born to die. Good Friday is the reason for Christmas. This is what needs to be said today about the meaning of Christmas." ~Desiring God: Good News of Great Joy Advent Readings 2012
