Ruth Turns Ten Years Old!

Double Digits!!!

In honor of celebrating the big event of turning Double Digits, we told Ruth she could plan "Friends Party" this year.  For our family, that involves inviting several friends over for a big celebration.  Ruth thought about it for a few weeks and then came to me to to say that she'd decided the only people she wanted to invite to her friends party was her grandparents and her aunt and uncle.  Her family are her favorite friends. How sweet is that?

Her special day went through a few changes, as it fell near Easter, but after all was said and done, we had a great time.

She planned her menu of Stuffed Shells and then got busy planning and building her own special birthday cake made entirely of melons and fruit!! It turned out adorable!

Her Aunt and Uncle were able to come, bringing more yummy food for us to enjoy together.  After the feast, we all had fun watching her open her gifts.

Ruth, next to the magnolia tree on her birthday this year. Last year, it was in full bloom when she woke up on her birthday. Spring is LATE this year!

This precious girl.  I keep thinking back to my sweet, little Baby Ruth.  I was so thrilled the Lord blessed us with another girl when she was born.  I've watched this petite little thing grow with determination and strength.  She is a powerful package of self-assertiveness, gumption, and leadership all packed up in this tiny little package.  She has become my Other Right Hand Girl, following hard in the footsteps of her big sister.  I am forever grateful.
