Construction Season

Have you ever seen my kitchen?

We've taken on a little remodel project here. :-)

My kitchen peninsula found a new home along the wall. (and we kicked that Lazy Susan right out! No Laziness allowed here!! heehee)  We now have a real Farmer's Kitchen with the table being used as a work island when needed.

We also created a school area in the former dining room for our youngest students.



Well, since we are moving things around, we may as well deal with this mess since it is just off of our lovely new kitchen...

The best way to do that is build a wall so you don't have to look at it. ;)

In that cute little space will fit a new section of cabinets and counter top. More storage! More room to work!! What a nice thing to happen to a Kitchen that needs to fit Nine. ;-)

Well, now that we've cleared out the coats and the shoes, we really do need to find a new home for them. You can only go barefoot in New Hampshire so long, you know!   Did you ever see our school room??

Well, we figure since our learning happens best at the kitchen table, we may as well move it there. So, out goes the school room/study...

The chalkboard wall is being transformed into a closet wall.  The opposite wall will hold a pantry wall and our upright freezer. This room will be tiled and have an entrance to our kitchen as well as the side door and bathroom/laundry.

You can see in this pic how convenient it will now be to access our food pantry from the kitchen. (no more hikes up and down the basement steps!)

And look! My former food pantry has been reassigned as well. It makes a lovely school closet, so close to the kitchen table. :-)

So, as we work on getting in the new floor in the new store room, repainting, taping, mudding, and the constant clean up that goes with all of that fun. I have only one thing left to do...

Find new homes for all of These Lovelies. (and a whole lot more!!) Another great reason to purge...yay!  :-)
