Valentine's teas have become a frequent and well loved occurrence at our home. I hosted my first tea four years ago; following the reception of my twelve-cup tea set on Christmas 2009. However, last year I took a break from the hostessing, and did not choose to have a tea this year either. This gave Ruth the opportunity to take on the big-sisterly job of planning and hosting a party, which she gladly embraced. She wrote the invitations all by herself, choose a theme, made the decorations, planned and helped make the food,....she did almost everything.....much thanks to Mother. Still, there was much to be done on the eve of the tea!
However, the morning of the tea was not very hectic, and the guests were met with a rather calm hostess; the guests arrived precisely at ten....
Yes, there are three guest dolls,too.
Ruth choose to begin the party with a scripture reading to explain her theme.
Then, a bean-bag toss game called "Feed my sheep", and a stained-glass coffee filter craft.
Next, was lunch; the most popular part of the day!

The hostess,
and the table setting.
After a little dancing, game, dress-up , and chatting, the girls came back to plant some flowers and frost cookies.
Finally, it came time for the guests to leave, though, not before a little more talking.
These two were so adorable; very sweet valentines.

What a beautiful day! Looks like fun! Ruth made it so exciting for her precious little sister and relaxing for her mom!
