Upon waking on the morning of her birthday, Ruth was greeted with the first blooms of our magnolia trees that reach to her window. She was so excited they had opened just for her special day. A special gift from the Lord.
After our morning work was complete, Ruth and I scooted out for a special date just the two of us. We headed to the grocery store to pick out the ingredients for her birthday dinner as well as her own yummy cake.
She made sure she tucked it in safe on the ride home. Such a funny little girl. :)
Ruth was very excited to receive cards in the mail for her birthday. She took pictures of them herself to keep the memory.
Ruth had a special treat of sewing lessons falling on her special day. She received a special gift from her teacher. We came home to a quick dinner, presents, and cake.
A beautiful cape made by her big brother, Joshua...
Antique handkerchiefs from her big sister's collection (she'd been eyeing these all year!)...
A new dress-up gown for those days when you just feel like a princess....
Her own jewelry box filled with treasures...
Clip-on earrings to practice for the real thing....maybe next year. ;)
A new bedding set for our little princess. :)
And lots of laughs for the birthday girl!
We continue to watch Ruth grow and learn and are so blessed by who the Lord is making her to be. Her willingness to serve, her ability to take charge, her eagerness to lead these all make us excited for the year ahead. We love you, sweet Baby Ruth. We pray this year the Lord will reveal Himself to you in marvelous ways!!
