Friday evening we walked over to the school where the fireworks were going to be set off. (I know, I know, the pics aren't so hot. But, I only brought the cheap camera and it WAS almost time for fireworks, ya' know. ;)
While we waited, David, the little girls and I danced to the music of the live band that was playing.
That's our Tarzannah. I couldn't even get her in the frame right for a pic. She is a wild woman!!
But, my heart melted when David took turns dancing with each of them for a slow song. So precious!
The next morning, we packed up for a full day of fun. David was busy meeting and greeting at the Business Expo that features business owners in our town. The rest of us headed down to visit vendors and load up our wagon with books from the library book sale. A few of us have been counting down the days for this sale. :) Curiously, we don't have any pics of our wagon loaded with treasures. Guess we were all too busy hunting. :)
Do have some shots of the rest of our fun. :)
Wildlife Encounters
Face Painting
Historical Society Museum Scavenger Hunt
And just hanging in the shade while the cloggers clogged. :)
It was a little stressful getting lunch together in the morning. I made these awesome black bean empanadas which were SO convenient for a packed lunch but also SO time consuming to have ready before we left. Thankfully, everyone had cheers for me over how great they tasted. That makes all the hard work worth it. Relaxing a bit in the shade over a leisurely lunch did this momma some good as well. ;)
After lunch, we were busy with more fun. A few of the little girls had a great time with their big brother, Joshua, playing games. He and Honoree' were partners and he was SO sweet. He helped her have so much fun.
Water Balloon Toss
Egg Race
Three-Legged Race
Pinata
Waiting on the Bed Races to start with my peeps. (Elizabeth was behind the camera)
Great fun! We're looking forward to next year!
