"Wood" you trust the Lord??

We have a wonderful story to share of the Lord's provision for our family.  Cuddle up by the woodstove while you read along. :)

This past spring our family embarked a new journey of employment. David's days at the accounting firm he was working at ended. After much prayer, we moved forward with opening our own accounting firm with an in-home office. 

Since then, David has been hard at work building a new client base. He's worked diligently to meet new people, attend the clients he has established, and pick up contracting work with other CPA's in our area. 

By God's grace, he's also had a few painting jobs that he and the children worked hard on during this past summer.  All of these have been wonderful ways for us to watch the Lord provide for our needs.

Since we first learned of this career move, we began praying for the Lord's provision for our financial needs. One need we felt to pray for strongly was wood for heating our home this winter. We knew it was to be a huge cost. Aside from our house payment, probably our largest cost.  We knew it would be a test of faith and prayer for us as we watched the money we had budgeted for wood go to other expenses. We prayed. We waited. The hot summer days waned on.

As August came to a close, we could feel the nip in the air. I admit, I began praying for a long fall and that the Lord would delay the cold for several more months. That wood just hadn't come in and our bank account wasn't ready for it.  There must be another way, right?

Shortly into September, we attended a fun event with some of our favorite home schooling families. It was hosted by friends we've known for years. Friends that have challenged us in our walk with the Lord as well as been used to meet some tangible needs over the years.

As David and our friend talked over life, ministry, and the work the Lord was doing in their lives they mulled over the property our friends live on.  A large pile of downed trees lay at the edge.  It had been there a good three years and needed dealing with.  When asked if we could use any wood, David replied with a definite, "yes!". 

In the next few, short hours the Lord supplied a heavy duty trailer for hauling, a peavey for moving logs, several people outside of our own family, and chainsaws for cutting the logs into rounds the next day.  In one Saturday, the Lord enabled us to haul 5 loads of wood, approximately SEVEN cords, to our home for splitting through the sweat, love, and generosity of His people!

I can't tell you how my heart sings when I see these photos.  I *know* that the Lord is faithful to His children. I *know* that He provides for those He loves. I *know* that He hears the prayers of His faithful ones. I *know* that I shouldn't be surprised when I witness His miraculous provision, but I ALWAYS AM!!!

So, now we work splitting, stacking, and singing His praises.  The Lord is a great God! Thank you, dear friends, for allowing the Lord to use you to show His love and care.
