Independence Day 2013

This morning we loaded up and headed over to Dover, NH where we travelled back in time to witness the arrival and words of Mr. John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and Benjamin Franklin.  On the steps of City Hall, the three of them, together, presented the great document, The Declaration of Independence and shared their feelings and thoughts regarding it.

While waiting for the honorable gentlemen, we spent some time reading the monuments. There were two that we found. One honoring those who served in WWI and another honoring the soldiers of the Spanish-American War.

The sun was already hot early in the day.  We were grateful for the shade of a spreading tree and the cool, soft grass at our feet. It helped to relieve those rosy cheeks and sweaty brows.

We headed back home and all worked together to put on the Independence Day Feast

The rest of the day we are spending relaxing, playing some games, and doing those things we can't always get to in the midst of a work week. You know, like blogging two or three month's worth of photos and memories.

Thanks for visiting with us.  May the Lord bless you with the true freedom that comes only through the work of Christ.

"Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God."
1 Peter 2:16
