This is a wonderful museum focusing on American life during World War II. Not so much the war itself as how it affected the American culture and shaped the decades to follow.
(okay, so this little book is right up my alley )
There were some fun interactive exhibits allowing the children to touch and quiz each other on various trivia and facts.
Great year by year corridors and displays
And, of course, the tanks
A lovely gallery of artwork, war posters, and various propaganda of the time
Now, no field trip is complete without a picnic lunch. We found a perfect spot near the lake where we could watch the local boat club race their remote control sailboats.
And, no picnic is complete without a great game of ultimate Frisbee...
...a fence climbing race...
...and some kind of CRAZY on the bleacher benches!!!
Really, they almost tipped it completely over. Thank the Lord for a STRONG momma to save the day!!
This was a place I'd had on our field trip list for years, but we were never able to fit it in. What a treat to go with great friends. That bumped the day up from a fun outing to a favorite memory in our book.
