We actually did make it out of Texas...and it didn't take two months to do it!  It's just taken me that long to find a minute to update the blog since we got home.  Our access to wifi was minimal on our way home. When we did have it, I wasn't always able to update, since we were pretty worn out.  We did have an amazing experience, however. We're so thankful for the wonderful people we met and the great adventure we shared!!  Here are some more highlights...

We cruised into Oklahoma next. We found some more great stopping points on our tour of Old Route 66.  Our visit with Harley and Annabelle was most memorable! We were welcomed to great conversation and serenaded with some favorite gospel songs. What a unique experience! Our hosts were more than generous. We're so glad to have met them!

Movin' along, we stopped at the Route 66 Museum. There was also a great history museum included.

We loved Oklahoma. We looked around a bit, seriously considering it as a future relocation spot. The countryside is beautiful and the people very friendly. We spent one evening with a friend of mine I met on my favorite online community. She and her family were so kind and generous to host us for dinner, share their home and driveway for us to rest for the night. It was a wonderful stop for me, especially. I LOVED being able to chat in real life with my friend Kristin. Too bad I forgot to take pics!

Our last stop in Oklahoma was a Must Stop for the kids. In our research of Route 66 before we left, the one place they all agreed they wanted to see was the Blue Whale. What a treat to be able to see it for real and have fun climbing all around it. Just thinking back to the days when Route 66 and all the businesses and attractions on her way were thriving is such fun for a sentimental, nostalgic fool like me!
